Find a Record

1.Click the appropriate Find button or the ellipsis next to a field to bring up the corresponding Find window.

2.If there is more than one tab in the Find window, click on the appropriate tab.
3.There may be some checkboxes located in the upper right portion of the window.  Check those boxes to include records of that type or categorization in your search results.  To search under all records, do not check any of the checkboxes.

4.At the top of the selection grid, click on the Heading under which you want to search (Name, Category, Phone, Item, etc.).   Scroll to the right to see other headings that may be out of view.  Remember that you can rearrange selection grids using the instructions under Selection Grids above.
5.Type your search term in the Search For field.  There is a System Setting that allows you to choose whether you want the search to start after there is a pause in typing, or if searches begin only after you press Enter on your keyboard.  See Chapter 2: Setting Up PMXpert, Step 3: System Settings, General: Options.
6.Matching entries will appear in the selection grid below.
7.To scroll through a list of all records, check the View All checkbox.  To more easily find a record, you can re-sort and re-arrange the records in the selection grid by following the instructions above in Selection Grids and Sort Lists.
8.In the selection grid, click to highlight the record you want to view or use and click OK.   The record will be displayed in the screen or highlighted in the selection grid.
9.Most of the Find windows also have a Filter button in the bottom left corner, so that you can additionally filter your search results. To learn how to use PMXpert’s filtering function, set Filter Information below.
